The Appraisal process is difficult for both the appraisee AND the appraiser. And, for many leaders it does not get easier as one goes up the ranks!! Neither does it get easier for the appraisee who is a senior manager. So, why is there so much trauma for both parties around the Appraisal Interview?
In this conversation, Dr. Abhay Valsangkar explains why there is angst from the point of view of the organization, the human level, and from the point of the appraiser and the appraisee. He points out some things that are not done correctly and how both parties can contribute to making the experience productive and less traumatic.
