Bridging the Relationship with your BOSS!!

Irrespective of the organization level, we all have a BOSS!!  And, as we get more senior, we often have multiple bosses.  A critical factor in our career success is our ability to build relationship bridges with our senior stakeholders. Those of us who are able to do this find it easier to get the doors to open for the best opportunities.

Building the relationship bridge with your own Boss may be easier said than done!! Therefore, in this conversation we draw upon the experience and wisdom of SIX senior leaders across industries and domains, and ask them for their secrets on managing the relationship with the BOSS effectively.

The six leaders are:

  1. Balaji Aravamuthan – Global CIO, UPL Limited
  2. Dr Sujatha Narayan – MD, Faiveley Transport India
  3. Vijay Gopalapillai – Executive Vice President, Kennametal India Limited
  4. Abhay Valsangkar – Management Consultant
  5. Anand Ganesh. –  Executive Coach and Management Consultant
  6. Rupesh Tripathi – Head of People at KPMG Global Services

The 3 questions that these senior leaders answer are: their best tips on building a strong relationship with the Boss; how to get the Boss to see your point of view, and how to calm the Boss when she or he is upset.
