Today, let’s talk about how we can be much, much better at receiving feedback. Now as leaders we receive feedback from our own bosses, and bosses who are one level above our own boss, from our own directs, peers and other relevant stakeholders.
Feedback, as we discussed last time, is an opportunity for learning and growth and should be done with the motivation and heart intent to help the other person make positive changes in the way she or he thinks, feels and behaves.
BUT, in terms of receiving feedback, most of us have a natural resistance to it, an inherent fear of it ….because in our psyche, feedback is associated with what we received from our parents in childhood.
This episode has valuable input on how we can learn to receive feedback in a way that supports our own learning and growth…
